And Then There Were 34

When I first started my 100 Movie Countdown back in 1985, I was expecting to see some that I'd like more than I thought, but I was also hoping to see some that I unexpectedly loved. That happened with Network, and it happened again. I flat-out loved It Happened One Night.

Thanks!
Very enlightening and enjoyable review. I caught 2 Simpsons references--did I miss some?
Keep up the good work!

Good review. I'm sure I have seen this movie but probably many years ago. It sounds like it's worth seeing again.

Many of the classic movies are really really good. Also, FYI and FWIW: Ebert & Roeper did a show a couple of years ago about how black and white movies are really timeless. Ever since then I have noticed what they mean when seeing one of "the oldies".

And a romantic comedy in which the male lead is actually intelligent, a clever communicator, and not a stupid stereotype who has to be rescued by his wife, girlfriend, kids, or dog, or all of the above from a lifetime of ineptitude and idiocy? Who'd a thunk it? Certainly not today's movie makers or TV sit-com producers and writers!

One of my favorite movies of all time -- glad to see it's not just girls that think this is an amazing movie.

If you get a hankerin' for some more '30s screwball comedy, try My Man Godfrey. I love it.

Sorry to be pedantic (whom am I kidding - I love being pedantic!), but this movie is listed as number 36 at the top of the review and 35 in the right-hand column. What's a hanger-on to believe?

Otherwise, great! Keep up the good work, and see if you can wrap it up before the next "last century's best films" list.

Fixed. Thanks. It's #35, believe it.
