Turn Around
I don't/won't have tickets to the first Sox/Yankees game at Fenway this year (though if you have an extra, you know where to reach me), but I've got an idea.
The first time Judas Damon comes to bat, don't cheer for his years of service. Don't boo his treachery. Just keep your mouth shut and turn your back on him.
It's better than taking him out on the boat with Silvio and Paulie Walnuts. Marginally.

Makes sense. He turned his back on Boston, so this is fitting.
How can someone spend 4 years trying to beat a team, getting beaten by them regularly (except for one glorious week) and then join them? I know it's before my time and most of all of our times as well, but when Jackie Robinson was traded from the Dodgers to Giants after years of the same kind of Red Sox - Yankees battles, he retired instead of reporting. Now Johnny didn't have to retire, but if he really was offered more money and more years by another team, and felt that he could not stay in Boston, why wouldn't he join that other team instead of signing with the Yankees? At least Robinson had integrity, a real feel and understanding for the fans, ... and personal pride.
What does Johnny have? Less money and fewer years on his contract than he supposedly could have had from that "other team", less adulation than he would have had for his entire career in Boston, and he gets George Steinbrenner.
I prefer the Jackie Robinson approach.
