No Task Too Herculean

There's something about me that sets up projects for myself that are epic in scope, even though I know I have my share of trouble completing them in anything like a timely manner.

So with that in mind, and still full of inspiration via Flickr mapping tools (see previous post), I've reembarked on my quixotic quest to take a picture in each of Massachusetts' 351 cities and towns.

It's not going to be easy; I have to find something somewhat interesting in each town, I have to figure out how to get to Gosnold, and I have (realistically) only about 47 good, productive years left in me. But if the results are anything like my early-morning picture of the Tobin Bridge in Chelsea (which I think came out great for an untrained point-and-clicker like myself), I'll keep at it.

well -- let me know when you are interested in heading up to groveland, haverhill, w. newbury, merrimack. I can lead you to something "interesting" in each location around here so you can take a picture.

it's a fun idea, i'd be happy to show you around the eastern end of the merrimack valley.

and where the heck is gosnold anyway?

As it turns out, Lexington and Somerville have better bunting than the Royals. Surprise surprise.

Great idea! What are you going to do for Quincy?

I think even Mt. Washington and Blandford can outbunt the Royals. Maybe even Aquinnah.

And I don't have anything in mind yet for Quincy (there are only a few towns which I already know what I'm going to shoot). Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Oh, and Christine, apparently Gosnold consists of a few island sticking out into Buzzards Bay between Woods Hole and Martha's Vineyard. It includes Cuttyhunk Island, and I guess I can take a ferry there from New Bedford. And I'll definitely take you up on that offer when I head northeast.

Please do. And good luck with your Gosnold quest. It should be fun, more of a summer quest I would think.

And you've piqued my interest -- i am googling and digging on info.

The ferry to Gosnold leaves from the State Pier in downtown New Bedford.

I hear Gosnold has a cute library--and 35 year-round residents.

Ol' "Bob" Kerry Healey: "My running mate just finished visiting 361 cities and towns [in MA]." C'mon Bunko, go for gold!
